I’m Back!

I have been preserving this site for ages, but I took a hiatus from teaching childbirth education to expectant parents. In the past few years, I have focused my efforts on my family, and my professional life. I took a stab at a leadership position in Labor and Delivery and was challenged to build new skills. When the demands of 24/7 operations and supervising a large staff with little support became too much, I scaled back. I am still passionate about nursing, and doing it the best I can. I have enjoyed teaching nursing students about obstetrics in the clinical setting, and continue to work per diem in our hospital Birth Center. I also work in an outpatient setting providing reproductive care, which has provided a great balance for me.

It’s now nearing the end of 2020.

I actually came back to this site to memorialize a pumpkin pie that I recently made. More on that later. But I think it’s time to switch gears, and I’d like to use this blog space to share what life is like now, maybe with a focus on eating in a pandemic. This year has been so bountiful for my family. We canceled all travel and had more time to spend in our garden and at home, making the most of what our small homestead and our surrounding lands and waters have to offer.

So, please stay tuned for more.
